The old beech forest in Catria's mountain (1701 m.) is protected in Umbria district  by the regional park Monte Cucco and in Marche District only by a little "oasi protection". It is necessary to create a national park that links the Appenine range from Catria to Nerone mountain to protect the biodiversity in this part of Central Appenine.
